Here’s Bob!

Hi, my name is Bob!!  I am about 1 years old and I weigh 45-50 lbs.  My fosters think I am one cool dog.  I know how to sit and I am good on the leash.  I LOVE to curl up in one of the dog beds and take a snooze!  My fosters have a 1 1/2 year old lab/shepard mix that is now my best bud.  I have consistently been going to the bathroom outside.  I enjoy affection and love to have my head scratched.  When my fosters are away from home I hang out in a crate but I don’t need to be crated at night.  My fosters say that I deserve an awesome forever home.  Could you be that home??

Meet Loretta!

Hi, my name is Loretta, and I am a 1 year-old Hound/Labrador Mix. I am a very sweet girl, but I have had a tough life, and I am very unsure about everything. I haven’t had many people be nice to me so far, so even though you want to love me, I am still nervous. I warm up fairly quickly to my caregivers. My foster mommy says that now that I trust her, I won’t leave her alone. I bond very closely and quickly with people who show me affection. I need a forever home that will give me the time, patience, and most importantly, love to help me grow into a wonderful pet. I love to chew, and will chew bones all day long. I appear to be mostly housebroken, though my foster mom is crating me during the day so I only chew on bones! I walk pretty well on leash, and like to walk with my foster brothers. I like my foster cat sister, though sometimes I think it’s fun to chase her. I really want a forever home that will show me people are nice. Do you have a home like that??

Adoption Update

Chloe, a young Terrier mix, was adopted last week and is having a blast in her new house. Her new mom, Nancy, takes her on daily morning hikes ranging from 3-7 miles! Perfect for a young, active dog like Chloe. Chloe also now has a horse brother. She is slowly learning to love him, and visits him at the barn everyday. She has a new doggie friend who lives nearby, and I am told there will be many play-dates. One picture below is of Chloe cuddling with new grandpa. What a lucky dog Chloe is!

Town Of Islip Apple Festival

Saturday October 16th 10:00-4:30

Islip Grange- Montauk Highway/Broadway Avenue, Sayville

The Festival is organized by the Town of Islip and features the following: pie-eating contest, scarecrow contest, crafts fair, apple-themed cooking contest, music, pony rides, and demonstrations. Last Chance will have many available dogs and puppies that are up for adoption. Please stop by to say hello, learn more about Last Chance Animal Rescue, and enjoy some apples!

Huge Adoption Success!

Thanks to everyone’s hard work we placed 27 dogs since last weekend including Begonia, Bertha, Boozer, Calhoon, Catalina, Chloe, Cruiser, Destiny, Downey, Eden, Gertie, Graham, Harris, June, Kilmer, Logan, Mabel, Orzo, Prince, Raina, Ruby, Stella, Topaz, Wagner, Walter, Washington and Winchester!

 

Last Chance Animal Rescue Reunion

LCAR is excited to be having their first Rescue Reunion!

Alumni and their adoptive families please come join us at Martha Clara Vineyard in Riverhead for a celebration of your dog and the over 1500 dogs rescued since we began almost 2 years ago.  We look forward to seeing everyone to catch up and to thank you all for providing the love and life that these precious animals deserve.

Music, Food, Wine, Entertainment, Vineyard Hike and Chinese Auction.

This is a great opportunity for our adopters to reunite their rescued companions with the hardworking and dedicated volunteers who worked to save their lives. It will be a fun day for the whole family. Please come out for an afternoon of entertainment and laughs.

ADOPTION EVENT – SUNDAY!!

Please join us for a 2 mile morning hike with Palmer Vineyards own vineyard manager, Josh Carp.

Josh will provide a brief vineyard tour while we get a bit of exercise. Don’t forget to bring your favorite fluffy friend to join you for this outing.

Timber

Hi, my name is Timber. I am a seven-month old Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix, with a dash of Collie thrown in! I was rescued by LCARF as a puppy, and I got adopted, and then I got returned because my first family didn’t have time for me, and couldn’t spend enough time with me like I needed. I spent a lot of time in a small crate, so I have lots of energy to expel now. I am super happy to be with my foster family, but I would really love to have a forever family to call my own. I was recently spayed, and am fully housebroken, so I would make a wonderful companion. I am gentle with kids, good with other dogs, and like cats (though I will admit sometimes I like to chase them). I do not have a mean or aggressive bone in my body! My foster mom loves me terribly, and hopes that I find a home with a fenced-in yard, or at the very least, someone who is willing to run me every single day. I love to play, considering I didn’t get the chance for the past few months, and I am working on leash-walking without pulling. I do not jump on people, and I know how to “Sit” and “shake paw.” My foster mom says I am super-smart and love to please. I am really still a very big puppy! Can you give me a loving home??
